The City of Wausau recently closed on Clean Water Fund Program and Safe Drinking Water Loan Program loans. Breakdowns of the financial assistance provided for each loan:

Clean Water Fund Program
Total Award/Financial Assistance Agreement:  $44,756,287
Principal Forgiveness:  $1,750,000
Loan:  $89,923,286
Loan Interest Rate:  1.87%
The financial assistance will be used to improve the safety, efficiency, and capacity at the wastewater treatment plant.

Safe Drinking Water Loan Program
Total Award/Financial Assistance Agreement:  $44,756,287
Principal Forgiveness:  $500,000
Loan:  $44,256,287
Loan Interest Rate:  1.76%
The financial assistance will be used to construct a new water treatment plant and upgrade six existing wells for new hydraulic conditions.

These projects are being funded with Environmental Improvement Fund Revenue Bonds.
